My Favorite Looney Tunes Of All-Time
There’s not a whole lot outside the obvious that I can say about the Looney Tunes. They’re classic and hilarious among many other things. I suppose they just remind me of a simpler time in my life — More blissful. It’s hard to narrow down my favorites but here they are.
- Wile E. Coyote
I was always wondering if the coyote would ever catch the Roadrunner — I now have my answer. You would think that all of his ridiculous fails would’ve convinced me otherwise as a kid. I, especially, loved the episode when Wile E. tries to catch and eat Bugs Bunny. He claims to be a genius and then Bugs just effortlessly bests him during every single attempt to catch him. That’s just truly hilarious!
- Sylvester The Cat
Very similar to Wile E. Coyote, Sylvester’s never ending quest to catch Tweety Bird just hits my funny bone every time. Of course, the more he fails the funnier it becomes. My absolute favorite episodes of Sylvester are when he’s trying to look brave in front of his soon by fighting what he thinks is a giant moose — It’s actually a kangaroo. He goes through all kinds of shenanigans when trying to take it down and it’s really something to watch!
- Foghorn Leghorn
It’s so hard for me not to put Foghorn Leghorn first on my list — That’s how funny he is! From his funny accent to his outrageous demeanor, this character is just downright funny. I love when he tries to give advice to little Henery Hawk only to be bested by him later in the episode. The altercations that occur between him and Barnyard Dawg are just too funny for words. Leghorn’s overall cheery mood and wisecracks are a real joy to watch.
- Bugs Bunny
Bugs Bunny takes all the marbles in my book! He always seems to escape certain capture when you least expect it no matter who it’s from. He’s escaped from Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Wile E. Coyote and many others. I can’t describe the excitement I feel when I hear that famous question, “What’s up, doc?”. His funny demeanor and his snarky comebacks are absolutely hysterical! Of course, who can forget Bugs in Space Jam, the movie that starrs Michael Jordan. Honestly, who wouldn’t love a movie that features both the best cartoon character and the best basketball player ever? Hopefully Bugs Bunny will continue to make kids laugh for many more years to come.
It was a hard task to find my favorite Looney Tunes characters, but it had to be done. Looney Tunes has been a part of American TV history for quite some time and shows no signs of slowing down.
